Volkswagen has determined that a defect, which relates to a prescribed emission standard, exists in certain 2012-2014 model year Volkswagen Passat vehicles equipped with a TDI (diesel) engine. To address this issue, this action is being applied to all automatic and manual transmission 20122014 model year Volkswagen Passat TDI - vehicles. If white crystalized (dried) AdBlue® is found at the reductant injector (see Figure 1 & 2), it will be necessary to replace the reductant supply line. Figure 1 Figure 2. Thoroughly clean the area of the reductant supply line connection with water to remove the crystalized AdBlue®. Replace the reductant supply line.
For the fun of it, I went through the adblue reset process by turning the ignition on but not starting the engine for the allotted time. All warnings remain. Figured this is will be beyond my skills/time available, so made an appt at the dealer for next week.

ANDREI. That low AdBlue (Diesel Exhaust Fluid or DEF) indicator doesn't require hard SDS reset. If after refill the low AdBlue warning does not come off is 1/2/3 drive cycles - then from ML totally off turn the ignition to position 1 (on, but not cranking) for over 30 secs - then turn ignition off - if Keyless Go pull the button and use the key.
